The most frequently voiced regret from elders is the longing to have traveled more—to see experience first-hand all that this amazing world has to offer. It’s a dream of many, but sadly, it’s one that few ever realize.
And why?
Because the modern work paradigm keeps us ensconced in fluorescent-lit penitentiaries, trading us mere “livable” salaries in exchange for the most valuable and active years of our lives. To further exasperate the issue, the status-quo for what consitutues an acceptable number of working hours has been inflated well past 40 to the point where people are forced to dedicate the majority of their waking hours laboring away in order to retain a job that society has conditioned them to believe they “need”.
Thankfully, that way of professional life is well past its peak. Day by day, the advancement of technology is further pushing the need for a traditional office space into extinction and enabling people an unprecedented degree of location-independence.
While many professionals leverage these capabilities simply to save themselves a commute a couple of days a week, why stop there?
Why not break free of the “employer paradigm” altogether? Why not give yourself the ability to make some exotic country your place of work, while choosing your own hours, and doing something you’re actually passionate about? Something thrusts you out of bed in the morning; not dreary and resentful, but excited and eager to take on the challenges that your “work day” will bring?
Well, in this series, I’m going to lay the groundwork for how you can achieve just that—by starting a remote business, leveraging foreign costs of living, traveling efficiently, and managing your business while on the move. I want this series to limit you from merely “liking” those travel videos on Facebook, and enable you to book a plane ticket instead.
Stay tuned!
